Yes. Even when the house sits on a crawlspace, the garage floor is poured as a concrete slab on grade, so it takes a coating the same way any slab does. On most Triad homes that garage is the only large slab in the house, and on a late-1980s home it has usually had decades of oil stains, pitting and tire wear. We test it for moisture, diamond-grind it, repair cracks and spalls, and then coat it.

Not a properly coated one. Triad winters are mild, but most years bring a few ice events, and before each one NCDOT and the City of Greensboro pre-treat major roads with salt brine, then spread rock salt after the storm. Your tires carry that slush into the garage. On bare concrete, repeated freezing and thawing with deicing salt causes scaling, where the surface flakes away. A polyaspartic topcoat is non-porous, so the brine sits on the surface and rinses off instead of soaking in.

Most summer days, if the install is timed right. Greensboro's muggy season runs from late May to late September, and a coating can only go down when the slab is warmer than the dew point of the air above it; otherwise moisture condenses on the concrete and the coating will not bond. Polyurea on its own is a broad family; some brands market it as many times stronger than epoxy, but strength figures depend on the test and the product, and the prep underneath matters more than the resin name.
